After a year and a half of construction and extensive remodeling at Miller’s Merry Manor – Tipton, move-in time has arrived.   This week, residents from Autumnwood at Tipton Hospital began moving into their new accommodations at Miller’s Merry Manor, just adjacent to the hospital campus.

Simply calling the changes at Miller’s Merry Manor “new accommodations” hardly begins to describe the modifications throughout the building, which bears little resemblance to its former appearance – both inside and out.  “With the completion of this major project, this campus now ranks as one of the largest in our company,” stated Patrick Boyle, President and CEO of Miller’s Health Systems.  “The hospital administration and community have been outstanding during this transition, and we thank them, along with the residents and their families of both Autumnwood and Miller’s Merry Manor for their support and patience,” stated Boyle.

Upon arriving at Miller’s Merry Manor, the differences in the building are immediately apparent with a new front entrance, roof design, and other architectural enhancements, along with a view of the second-story addition.  Through the front doors, visitors are welcomed by a grand hall and inviting lobby, with administrative offices around the perimeter.  Indirect lighting and greenery emerging from the open wall design are an integral part of the airy appeal of the entry view.  From here, visitors can easily access the newly designed Private Rehabilitation Suites, equipped with flat screen TVs, DVD players and sleeper-sofas for guests.  These Medicare-certified suites lend a fresh, comfortable atmosphere to those needing short-term rehabilitation for a variety of conditions including orthopedic, neurological and cardiovascular issues.

The newly-constructed Rehabilitation Center features a large exercise gym utilizing state-of-the-art therapy technologies, private treatment rooms and therapy offices.  A unique feature of the Center is the Rehab-to-Home Training Suite, built to mimic features of a typical home setting including kitchen, laundry, dining, bedroom, and bath areas.  The Suite’s design assists rehabilitation patients making the transition to home, and offers therapists the opportunity to re-familiarize residents to real-life situations while still in an assisted environment.

One of the most distinctive features of the new Rehabilitation area is the Wellness Center; complete with a 21’ x 21’ heated therapeutic swimming pool, fitness room, and men’s and ladies’ locker rooms. In the future, the Wellness Center will be open to the public, offering use of the facilities, exercise classes, and other related activities. A canopied private entrance was included to give easy access to community visitors.

Just a short distance down the hall is the Private Rehabilitation Dining Room and Apothecary Lounge, where residents and their visitors can enjoy soda shop-style treats including ice cream with hand-made waffle cones, milk shakes and other favorites, in addition to the Premier Dining experience.  The dining room is one of three new large group dining areas along with 2 private dining areas built for use by residents, friends and families.

Additional amenities of the project include new resident rooms, two fireplace lounges, a beauty shop offering a full array of salon services, a large courtyard gazebo, Direct TV in resident rooms, a new Movie and Activities Room, and tasteful new décor throughout.

Planning is underway for an Open House to be held in January.  Those desiring more information about the changes at Miller’s Merry Manor—Tipton can contact Troy Clements, Administrator at 765-675-8791 or by email at TiptonAdm@millersmerrymanor.com.
